Vintage and Vine was established in 2000 by David Burkitt and Kevin Facey following their sale of World Wine Estates and Ultimo Wine Centre in 1999. Following Kevin's retirement in 2006, David and his team have continued to build Vintage and Vine into one of Australia's most highly regarded specialist importers and distributors of French wines and spirits.

Today the Vintage and Vine portfolio is still substantially French in provenance, though we now also represent a small selection of wines from Austria and Germany, as well as a selection of small premium Australian wine producers from south-east Australia as well as some of the finest and most established vineyards in eastern and southern Tasmania (and some of the newest).

Most of the producers we represent have small vineyard holdings ranging from just 3 to 13 hectares of vines which are mostly farmed according to sustainable, organic or bio-dynamic principles producing wines with minimal intervention which reflect the environment in which they are grown and which are represented in many of Australia’s finest restaurants.

We have only ever shipped in refrigerated containers and we manage our own temperature controlled warehouses in Sydney and Melbourne. We deliver wherever possible using our own temperature control vans in order to maintain the best and fastest possible service at every level of our business. Our aim remains to offer quality, service and advice that is second to none.

On the following pages featuring each producer we have done our best to distill our knowledge and understanding of each producer having visited each producer and their vineyards and wineries to best understand the way that they work and, where available, have included independent tasting notes from notable critics. We hope you enjoy our selection as much as we do.

This web-site has been designed by Gavin Lennard and features his superb photography of the vineyards, or cellars, of the producers that we represent taking you right to the source of the wines that we have carefully selected. You will find most of the producers names in the following pages link directly to their own web-sites (where available) for even more information.

Initially based in Sydney, Vintage and Vine now covers NSW, Victoria and South Australia directly, and we are represented by agents in ACT, Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania.

We always ship, transport and store in temperature control and in Sydney and Melbourne metro we deliver in our own air-conditioned vans to ensure our wines are handled and cared for properly at every step from collection at the producers cellars.

Where wines need to be couriered we cannot guarantee time-lines for delivery or how the wines are handled by any third party transporter.

If ordering a premium wine we prefer not to send via courier if there are consecutive days around 28°C or higher.
